The warm summer sun only highlights the beauty of the many flowers we choose to adorn our home, even indoors. Among the most popular flowers are undoubtedly orchids, which are usually preferred by lovers of green thumbs for their beauty and elegance. Orchids come in different types, all of which are very pretty, colorful, and fragrant. Therefore, enriching your home with orchids is a very good option, given that these flowers will also be able to spread a wonderful fragrance.
Orchids will grow a lot thanks to this natural solution
However, especially those who are beginners do not know all the techniques to ensure that orchids always grow strong, lush and, above all, very numerous. The secret is to opt for a highly effective organic fertilizer, capable of guaranteeing the plant the adequate nutritional intake.

Many choose to rely on the many chemicals that can be easily found in specialty stores, but it is always advisable to put these solutions aside and focus on natural organic fertilizers.
The first thing to do to ensure the growth of countless orchid buds is to water once every two weeks, to maintain the right level of moisture. This way, the plant will absorb the fertilizers much faster.
Then we can count on brown rice, preferable to normal rice because it is richer in elements such as potassium, phosphorus and calcium. Put five tablespoons of brown rice in a plastic cup and add half a liter of water.
Once this step is done, mix gently and pour the mixture into another container through a sieve that will filter the liquid.
With freshly obtained rice water, we can clean the leaves of orchids. Let’s take some cotton, soak it in rice water and pass the substance over the leaves.
In this way, we will guarantee the plant a large amount of nutrients, starting with proteins and B vitamins. The cleaner the leaves, the more likely the plant is to grow smoothly.
By applying rice water once a month to the leaves, we will also get the plant to keep fungi and insects away, thus allowing it to live a long time and grow healthy.
Rice water is the best medicine: try it to believe it
We can also water the orchid’s soil with rice water, leaving it on for about 30 minutes to allow the roots to better absorb the nutrients.

Finally, an excellent method to allow damaged orchids to regain vigor is transplanting. Before replanting, we always use rice water to thoroughly clean the leaves and ensure that the plant receives the necessary nourishment.
Once this is done, we can put the orchid in a glass and fill it with rice water, letting it all rest for about 30 minutes.
When we proceed to replant, thanks to this method, the roots of the plant will develop faster. When replanting, it is advisable to keep the plant in a cool place for about a week, before moving it to a bright place.
