Every gardener knows first-hand how difficult it is to grow tomatoes, as they are distinguished by their capricious nature and therefore require considerable effort. Tomatoes often suffer from harmful insects and various diseases. They can also react negatively to watering. To get a good harvest of tomatoes, holidaymakers have to play with them.
The first rule that all gardeners should follow is proper soil for growing tomatoes. To do this, you need to add fertilizer to the soil in the fall and then dig it up before the onset of winter.

List of required additives:
- Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which are spread over the beds and then not deeply buried.
- Lime. It is used against the higher acidity of the soil, as it is unacceptable for this crop.
- Bird droppings. Favorite tomato dressing. Organic matter, in which this fertilizer is rich, is necessary for tomatoes when they form a green mass and a strong bush. The fertilizer should be spread over the entire surface of the soil and buried to the depth of a shovel.
- Fertilizer and ash. And this fertilizer is necessary during the flowering and fruit formation period.
Important recommendations before growing tomatoes:
During seedling planting, the use of mineral mixtures is not recommended, as they are characterized by their strong effect. And during this period, the plant must first gain green mass and form strong roots.
In the spring, when tomatoes are planted, no fertilizer is applied. This procedure is carried out in autumn so that all the necessary components have time to spread throughout the soil. This does not apply only to nitrogen fertilizers, which have a rapid decomposition period and are washed with water.
In addition, 24 hours before transplanting seedlings, the soil should be fed a solution of manganese and yeast. To do this, dissolve 10 grams of yeast in a bucket of water and let it sit for a day.
How to use: one glass – one well.
It is also necessary to add 100 grams of wood ash to each hole, which is rich in potassium needed for plants.
We apply fertilizer 10 days from the time of planting the seedlings. The garbage is dissolved in water, maintaining the ratio of 1:15.
By the way, onion peels protect tomatoes from harmful insects. You can simply put it in the holes or prepare a special solution by pouring boiling water (1:5) over the leaves and letting it sit for 10 hours. This method will help protect against fungal diseases.
And eggshells saturate the soil with calcium.
Please note: From mid-summer, the fruits begin to form, so it is advisable to reduce the frequency of watering to keep them plump and strong.
