If you want your orchids to bloom all year round and grow actively, offer them a special, all-natural infusion. It is not only an excellent fertilizer, but also a prevention of diseases.

Prepare an infusion of cinnamon and rice water

Cinnamon is a natural antiseptic and fungicide known among gardeners. It helps prevent rot, a common problem in orchids. Take a full teaspoon of ground cinnamon and pour in a quart of boiling water. Let stand until cool.

At the same time prepare the rice water. Take two tablespoons of white rice and add a liter of water at room temperature. Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water becomes cloudy. Strain the cooled cinnamon infusion with a cloth to remove any remaining dust and mix it with rice water (separate the rice and use it for cooking).

Using the infusion

Water the orchid generously with this infusion, making sure to drain off excess moisture by placing the plant in a large container. Leave the orchid on for half an hour.

Use the excess infusion to spray the leaves of the plant on both sides. Place cotton or cotton swabs in the leaf axils to prevent water from entering the inside of the plant and causing root neck rot. After half an hour, remove the orchid from the container and let the excess water drain, then return the plant to its usual place.

Regularly, once every 15 days, feed the orchid this infusion. This care will not only protect the plant from rot, but it will also become an effective natural fertilizer
