Many homes have beautiful hardwood floors or beautiful real wood furniture in their rooms. However, one issue that can often arise is that of proper cleaning. Wooden floors and furniture are very delicate and unsuitable detergents could damage them. Let’s see together how to take care of it with a natural remedy that will make it shine again.
Parquet, wood and their treatments
A beautiful and well-kept waxed parquet floor, as well as beautiful wooden furniture, undoubtedly contribute to making the atmosphere much warmer and more welcoming. However, real wood requires a lot of care, as it scratches and stains easily, not to mention its fear of water. Therefore, it is essential to take care of it with the right methods. There are products on the market specifically dedicated to the maintenance of wooden floors and furniture, but if you want to save money and use a natural ingredient, we offer you something that you will surely have at home and that is very suitable for cleaning.

The natural remedy for polishing and caring for wood
Among the various natural remedies available, the one we recommend involves the use of vinegar. This natural degreaser and polish is really useful for revitalizing the wood, it also has excellent antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Therefore, it will act as a disinfectant and as a polisher.

A single pass will be enough to give your parquet a new look. But let’s see how to do it. Simply wet a microfiber cloth and wring it out well. Then you will have to pour a few drops of vinegar over the cloth, preferably apple instead of wine. Simply wipe the cloth soaked in water and vinegar over the wood, furniture or floor, slowly and in circular motions. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse and let dry. You’ll immediately notice how much brighter and more invigorated the wood will be. But that’s not all, because the real remedy lies in the final touch, i.e. the polishing treatment that invigorates the wood in depth. Doing so is really very simple and economical and will help you keep the furniture and floors always in excellent condition.
How to perform a polishing treatment at home
The ingredients for this mixture are readily available. You’ll need some olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and a soft-bristled brush.

Simply mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil with 2 tablespoons of vinegar, an amount that you can double depending on your needs and the surfaces to be cleaned. Then, simply dip the brush into the solution and gently wipe it over the surfaces to be treated. The mixture should be left to sit for at least 2 hours, to allow the ingredients to work properly.
After two hours, you can rinse with a wool cloth. Obviously, the first tip is not to use these remedies immediately on the entire furniture or floor, but to do small tests on areas that may be less visible. In fact, depending on the treatment of the wood, it could stain or damage the wood.
