Dirty Broom That Smells: The Lemon and Hot Water Method
It is often thought that the time has come to replace your broom brush because it looks hopelessly dirty and damaged.
We throw it away without knowing that there is actually no need to spend more money: by following this method we can transform the old broom. It will be as good as new. What you need is just one all-natural ingredient that we have at home, namely lemon juice. Before proceeding with lemon juice, try as much as possible to remove any residual dirt from the hair. Hair and dust build up, creating clumps of dirt. You can get rid of them directly with your hands, protecting yourself with latex gloves or a towel.
After this preliminary cleaning, equip yourself with a bowl filled with hot water and dip the broom brush inside. Make sure to moisten it well by submerging it completely. Let it soak while you prepare the lemon juice. For the lemon juice, simply squeeze a few lemons to fill a whole cup. Pour the juice directly onto the bristles of the broom without leaving any gaps. Then continue to wash the broom in hot water, pressing it against the edges of the container. The water will definitely turn black and when it stops releasing dirt, pour more clean water over the bristles. Let it dry on the balcony and when it is completely dry, you will immediately notice how much it has regained its shine, it will be as good as new.
