White vinegar

Not only in the kitchen but also for cleaning, but now let’s look at all the details together and find out when it can be used and when it can’t depending on different surfaces. As we said, there are cases in which it is better not to use it because it could only cause harm. You will find everything below in the next paragraph.

White vinegar – never use it here

As we said, there are cases in which it is better to avoid the use of vinegar. Many people advise against it for two very specific reasons. The first is that it tends to pollute and is therefore an environmental reason. This is because vinegar contaminates the water when it is used, for example, in the washing machine.

Both by the release of acetic acid and by the heavy metals released after contact with clothing. Then there is also the economic reason. This is because the use of vinegar can damage appliances and is therefore not always recommended. It can corrode and you will be forced to buy new ones.

White vinegar: never use it like this

Therefore, it is necessary to avoid using white vinegar in the washing machine or dishwasher. It should not even be used as an anti-limescale agent in pots or faucets. In addition, it is not recommended to use it to clean the screens of smartphones, tablets or computers.

Also, some surfaces should not be cleaned, as this would tend to damage them. Among these, there are certainly marble and granite surfaces. These are the uses to avoid and in this case you may prefer citric acid to vinegar because it pollutes much less than the latter.

When to use it

We’ve seen when it’s best to avoid using vinegar for cleaning, but we certainly didn’t say you should eliminate it entirely. In fact, it is still a great cleaning product, it should certainly not be abused and should be used when its use does not end up in the sewers.

Natural cleaning products

So, for example, it can be used to clean the fridge or to wash the floors. Or for cleaning glass or other surfaces other than the materials listed above. It also helps to remove bad odors from carpets and mattresses. You don’t have to stop using it, but use it correctly.
