To grow an early crop of cucumbers, you don’t need to have a greenhouse. It is enough to know a few tricks to grow plants in the open field. In this article we will tell you how to do this.

First you need to choose a place for the garden bed. It should be well-lit and protected from the wind. It is best to choose a spot near a brick wall, which will heat up during the day and give off heat at night.

On the bottom of the bed, lay a layer of mowed grass, about three centimeters thick. Then cover the lawn with soil and plant cucumbers. This will allow them to emerge and start growing faster as the grass begins to warm the soil from below. In addition, the grass will release nitrogen as it decomposes.

After sowing the seeds a month later, cucumbers can be transplanted into the garden for seedlings. But keep in mind that cucumbers don’t like to pick them, so plant them immediately in separate pots. If you don’t want to grow seedlings, sow the seeds directly in the bed at a depth of 2 centimeters at a distance of 30 centimeters from each other. It is best to pre-germinate the seeds so that pests do not eat them. To do this, it is necessary to place them in a moist, warm cloth and, when roots form, plant them in the ground.

Water the cucumbers regularly with warm water. If you want to speed up the growth of cucumbers, you can fill the bed with boiling water before planting to keep the soil warm. Another way is to cover the bed with black film, which will help warm the soil.

The water bottles between the beds will be heated during the day and the cucumber beds will be heated during the night.

You can bury grass or manure between the beds, which will generate heat as they decompose. The plants should be covered with spunbond or film. If there are no covers, it is recommended to plant cucumbers in the ground in early summer, when it is hot and the threat of frost has passed.

To get an early harvest, you should choose self-fertile and early cucumber hybrids. By following these recommendations, you will be able to obtain an excellent harvest of cucumbers.
