Installing drip irrigation on your site or in a greenhouse is a great solution for gardeners. Drip irrigation offers many advantages over traditional irrigation methods. It provides a slow and directed supply of water directly to the roots of the plants, which favors their better growth and development, minimizing the risks of lack or excess of moisture.

The main benefits of drip irrigation include:

  • significant reduction of the time needed for irrigation;
  • protection of leaves and fruits from direct contact with water, which reduces the likelihood of burns or rot;
  • Economical use of water resources, as water is supplied directly to the root, reducing overall water consumption.

You can set up a drip irrigation system yourself using available materials such as plastic bottles and cotton buds, which greatly simplifies the process.

To create the system you will need:

  • 5-liter plastic bottles;
  • cotton swabs.

Construction Process:

cut cotton swabs in half;

cut off the tops of bottles;

Make a small hole in the bottom of each bottle and insert a cut cotton swab into it;

fill the bottles with water;

To control the intensity of watering, you can adjust the position of the cotton swab on the bottle;

Position the bottles so that the cotton swabs are pointing toward the trunks of the plants.

This drip irrigation system allows you to simply add water to your bottles on the go.
