Geranium is a beautiful and popular plant that can often be seen in many gardeners’ homes. But what to do when flowering is over and the plant has stopped growing? To restore its vitality and turn it back into a flourishing and lush shrub, a series of measures need to be taken.

First, to rejuvenate geraniums, they need to be pruned. It should be done only when flowering ends, preferably from January to March. This procedure awakens the buds of the plant.

It is best to sprinkle the resulting cut areas with cinnamon so that they heal faster. During the period when the geranium has not started to produce new shoots, watering should be reduced. As soon as the plant starts growing, it can be fed with any complex fertilizer.

To propagate geraniums, you can use cuttings, which should be between 6 and 7 cm long. Excess leaves from below should be removed, only 2-3 leaves remain at the top. The bottom cut is treated similarly with cinnamon.

Then, the cuttings should be planted in good and loose soil with vermiculite, where they will take root well. For better growth, you can add Kornevin or a diluted pharmaceutical solution of succinic acid to the gap. Plant and water.

The cuttings should be placed in a bag and ventilated periodically. This way, the cuttings will take root in 2-3 weeks.

After pruning geraniums, the following procedures should be performed. After the buds emerge, the plant needs to be fed nitrogen fertilizer so that its vegetation grows much faster. To do this, we take a pharmaceutical solution of ammonia, which we will dilute in water (1 teaspoon of preparation in 1 liter of water).

The 2nd feeding should be done with succinic acid, it will strengthen the plant, stimulate its growth and protect it from pests (2 tablets of 100 mg per 1 liter of water) and spray the leaves.

These procedures are enough for the geranium to renew and recover. Therefore, with the help of proper pruning, rooting cuttings, and feeding, you can renew and revive the lifeless geranium and turn it back into a beautiful, lush shrub.
