How to polish the floor

Natural remedies, those of grandma and those found in the pantry, can be used for any type of domestic use, including cleaning and polishing the floor. Many times stains and lines can ruin the pavement of various environments, and that is precisely why we must resort to the use of completely natural remedies. Forget about floor washing products rich in additives and preservatives, because with these remedies you can have a very shiny floor from the first pass.

Shiny and clean floor: which natural ingredients to use?

The floor is one of the areas of the house that is often underestimated in terms of hygiene. Germs and bacteria are transported with the soles of our shoes, through the various food scraps that fall on the floor to our four-legged friends who shed hair and drool. To always have a clean, scented and sanitized surface, it is enough to use some natural remedies combined with other products. This mixture can be used with any type of floor, especially when you want to clean it thoroughly and restore its shiny patina as if it had just been laid. The ingredients are:

  • 2 liters of cold water
  • 2 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda – 1/2 tablespoon
baking soda
  • Floor detergent
  • dish soap

Hydrogen peroxide is critical for removing stains, while baking soda sanitizes while polishing the surface.

Procedure and advice

The first thing we must do is pour two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide on the dry floor, immediately passing the soft-bristled broom. This movement will allow you to remove all the dirt embedded in the floor with two simple steps. Immediately after take a bucket and fill it with two liters of cold water, then add some floor detergent (with your favorite scent), a small amount of dishwashing liquid and finally two tablespoons of baking soda. Wait a few minutes and then take the classic floor cloth, dipping it in water rich in the newly created substance. Mop the floors and make even more passes. The three ingredients together fulfill the action of hydrogen peroxide to clean, sanitize, perfume and polish the surface.

Clean the floor

Leave on and make a second quick pass, always with the same cloth soaked. Leave on again for five minutes. Now grab some clean water and another rag to rinse the floor and remove all residues of the substance used for cleaning. In summer you can let the floor dry naturally, while in winter you can use a dry cloth to remove water and moisture in one go. You can use this mixture once a week and it will be wonderful to see your floor clean and shiny. This method is no longer a secret and everyone will want to know about it.
