Cinnamon: Fantastic Spice
As we read, cinnamon is an element that can be decisive for the correct growth and therefore flowering of the orchid. It is, as many of you may already know, a spice that is used very often in cooking: it is so old that it is even mentioned in the Bible and, as studies have shown, it was already used by the Greeks, Latins and even Egyptians. . Its spread in the West dates back especially to medieval times: in fact, during the first half of the seventeenth century, it was the Dutch who planted cinnamon trees directly from Sri Lanka (country of origin). As already mentioned, cinnamon is used today in cooking, for example for the preparation of various desserts (the cinnamon roll is now famous). Unlike many other spices of this type, the part that can be used in gastronomy comes from the stem, or rather from the twigs that look like small brown parchments. That said, why can it be used in favor of orchids?
Healthy and strong orchid: use cinnamon!
More than for its properties related to the olfactory aspect, cinnamon can be useful for its structure. The stick can be used to support the stems of orchids: some of them will need to be inserted into the soil, making sure to leave room for the flowers to bloom. In addition to this, it must be said that cinnamon has exceptional disinfectant properties: the spice will therefore cure the plant even if it has broken or damaged stems. In short, we recommend using this exceptional spice to immediately notice how useful it can be for our orchid.
