If you want to make flypaper at home, you need to get:

  • 100ml. castor oil
  • 200 grams. of a special resin, rosin
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • wax or packaging paper

Method

Before you start preparing the flypaper, it is best to remember that it will be very sticky and that is why it is better to wear gloves before going out. So, the first thing you need to do is get the right paper for this purpose. You can get wax paper or packing paper. Then you have to cut some strips and the recommended size is approximately 30 cm by 5 cm. Now take two saucepans that you will only use to create flypaper. Place the saucepans on the fire in a double boiler and melt the vegetable resin. Once done, add the castor oil and honey as well. Once you have created the fly compound, soak the strips of paper and then hang them on tree branches, next to windows, under the gazebo, etc… in the places you frequent. To dip the strips it is better to use tweezers that you will save for future occasions.
