Normally we all use the refrigerator to store food and keep it fresh for longer, but even in this case the fruit does not last forever and space is limited. So how do you do it? Thanks to the Chinese method you can keep the fruit for a long time and always eat it fresh, without using preservatives that can harm your health. This is a simple method to perform, here is everything you need to perform the procedure!
Wash the fruit carefully.
The first thing you should pay attention to in order to put the Chinese method into practice and obtain excellent results is to use fresh fruit in good condition. Therefore, the fruit must be healthy and not rotten, otherwise you will not get the desired results.

The fruit should be washed by placing it in a saucepan and under running water. Wash it several times to remove any residue and wring it out carefully. Take into account a large quantity of fruit to be preserved and carry out the Chinese method for its preservation in detail, following the procedure below step by step.

What do you need to perform the Chinese method?
In addition to fruit, which you can choose from several types, such as apples, cherries, grapes, plums, peaches and much more, you will need to get some 1 and a half liter glass jars. Calculate the amount of fruit you want to preserve with this method and get the necessary jars. You can choose to mix the fruit in a jar, but the advice is to put the fruit by type. The Chinese method of preserving fruit.
As mentioned above, you can choose different types of fruit, but it is advisable to choose fruits that are not too large to fit more in the containers. Here’s what you need to do:
- Boil the water, opting for the amount needed to fill the jars.
- Remove the leaves and stems (or petioles) from the fruit, wash it thoroughly
- Place the fruit in the jars and fill them to the brim.
- Pour the boiling water over the top, without reaching the edge of the pitcher.
- Place the lids, without screwing them on, and leave on for 10 minutes.
Once the time has passed, remove the cap and put a plastic one with holes. Pour the water into the pot and bring back to a boil.

How to complete the procedure
While the water is coming back to a boil, pour 2 heaping tablespoons of sugar into each glass jar filled with fruit. Once the water has come to a boil, put it back on top of the fruit, scooping it with a ladle to prevent it from splashing. Fill the jars to cover the fruit, but not to the brim. Replace the jar lids and screw them firmly with the sealing tool. At this point, take two towels, use one to place the jars and the other to cover them. Let the jars cool for 24 hours at room temperature. Once you have finished the procedure, the jars will be ready to be stored for a long time. Place them at a temperature not exceeding 18°, in a dry place and away from light. The fruit will keep perfect for twelve months and therefore for a year you can eat as much fresh fruit as you want, without having to buy it.
