Move furniture and pots so that dirt doesn’t hide under the furniture. Then proceed to quickly sweep the balcony with a stiff-bristled broom.
Cleaning terraces and balconies: a trick to do it quickly
First wet the balcony and terrace floor with dish detergent. Spread it quickly with the help of the broom, especially on the stains to be removed. This is a procedure to perform when a rainy day is forecast. You will see that as soon as the water wets the surface, the stains will disappear without too much effort. Once the rain passes, wipe with a dry cloth if the balcony has dried on its own. Choose a 100% organic detergent, so as not to cause damage to the environment. Be careful not to let water run off into a tenant on the lower floor or into a gutter.
If you don’t have biodegradable dish detergent, you can replace it with baking soda powder. Spread it on the floor with the broom. If residues remain after rain, rinse with a mixture of vinegar and water. Wipe the entire floor with a dry cloth so you don’t leave any traces. If it is a stoneware or slate floor, then you can proceed by filling a bucket with hot water and adding a cup of baking soda, a cup of Marseille soap and two cups of white vinegar. Brush very hard, then rinse and let dry. If, on the other hand, it is a terracotta floor, create a mixture of white vinegar and water, to be able to sanitize the surface and also remove possible limescale residues.
