Grease and scale from the bathroom: how to remove them

Grease and limescale can be two real enemies for those who struggle to clean the kitchen and bathroom.

The first is formed as a result of food residues, spices and dirt. They nest mainly on kitchen furniture, but especially in the oven. However, limescale, which can cover bathroom fittings and faucets, is mainly caused by the hardness of the water, which settles as it dries.

To eliminate these two enemies of household cleaning,  we often rely on chemical products, sometimes expensive ones, that promise a sparkling clean. Sometimes, however, even when all the elbow grease we had at our disposal is applied, the grease and scale are still there.

So it’s better to save money and use  great pasta  made with ingredients that can be easily found in all kitchens. Are you ready to learn how to do it? After use, limescale and grease can be removed very easily.

How to make DIY cleaning paste

The paste we will teach you to make will allow you to remove not only scale, but also grease from the oven, kitchen tiles, pots and pans. You will need six tablespoons  of concentrated dish soap  of any brand; 3 tablespoons  of powdered bathroom cleaner  ; 3 tablespoons  of baking soda  ; spoon  of white wine vinegar  .

You will need a disposable container, even a recycled one, such as a plastic ricotta container bought at the supermarket. Wash the container and use it for the pasta we will be making.

Put three tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl, followed by three tablespoons of powdered detergent. The third step involves adding six tablespoons of concentrated liquid dishwashing detergent. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon. When the paste seems very smooth, add a tablespoon  of vinegar  .

We transfer the mixture to a container so that we have it at hand when we need it. Wearing gloves and using a sponge, we will be able to apply this paste to the surfaces that need it.

To be effective, it must be left on the surface for a few minutes and then removed with a clean cloth and water. Especially on faucets rich in limestone, depending on the type of encrustation, leave it on longer. You can also use a toothbrush to be more thorough. Once you try this method, you will never stop using it.
