Cinnamon and orange peels: here’s the perfect mix It is not uncommon for our home to acquire a particularly persistent bad smell. Regardless of the motivation, we can take advantage of some elements, or even food waste, that allow us to solve the problem. Let’s look at some tricks!
Cinnamon and orange peels: here’s the perfect mix
This first method involves the use of orange peels and cinnamon sticks. All we have to do is pour approximately one liter of water into a container that we can place on the fire. Now heat it and add the peels of two oranges, two cinnamon sticks and if we want some cloves. Obviously we can also use ground cinnamon if we do not have sprigs. Bring to the boil and lower the heat, then let cook for another 10-15 minutes. The water will start to evaporate and an exceptional aroma will spread throughout the house! We place everything in a jar and use the right amount distributed in several jars that we can “distribute” around the house.
Other useful tricks
There are also other really interesting tricks that you can use to scent your home. One of them involves an interesting mixture made of baking soda and essential oil (of your choice). In this case, we will simply have to pour two tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of essential oil into a jug with 3-400 ml of water and pour everything into a container equipped with a nebulizer. We can now spray our mixture to scent the whole house! Another ally, in this sense, is also the laurel tree. The leaves of this aromatic plant can be useful for eliminating odors in the house. Simply use several dried sheets and continue until crispy in the oven, placing them on a baking sheet at no less than 180 degrees. Then, we only have to crumble them into dishes and scatter them around the house to obtain an exceptional natural aroma. Finally, you can try the combination of salt and mint. In this case, we must take advantage of the hygroscopic properties of salt, which will absorb the smells of the house, and mint, which can give all rooms a unique aroma. Place some mint leaves in a bowl, place them on a layer of salt and place them in various strategic areas of the house. If we wanted to perfume the kitchen, then we can put everything in a pot that we can place on the fire and cook for a few minutes.
