To keep your house free of insects, you can use some simple and very effective remedies based on a particular ingredient.

With the return of the warm months and the beautiful days, we are once again facing one of the main problems of the spring and summer seasons. In this period, in fact, all the houses are once again inhabited by insects of all kinds. They range from flies to mosquitoes, including ants, spiders, bedbugs, etc., etc. The aim is obviously to eliminate these annoying “guests” as soon as possible and for this we often rely on the various products that can be easily found on the market. However, it is not uncommon for specific sprays and products to be ineffective in defeating the parasites infesting your home.
An ingredient to scare insects away from the house
The advice is to forget about chemicals and try a natural, homemade, economical and effective repellent. Many people don’t know that baking soda is one of the best ways to keep bugs, especially flies and ants, away. Simply mix a teaspoon of baking soda, four tablespoons of olive oil and 50 cl of water in a spray bottle. After mixing well, the resulting solution is sprayed on some possible points of entry for insects: window sills, for example, but also the areas in front of doors and in the various cracks that can appear in the walls.

In addition to baking soda, it is possible to take advantage of the properties of many other products to scare away all kinds of insects from your home. Among these is lemon, a perfect natural insect repellent. Lemon, in addition to acting as an excellent disinfectant, is especially capable of keeping ants at bay. The process is very simple. After slicing a lemon, simply place some of these slices on windowsills and entry points so they no longer have anything to do with flies and ants. The smell of lemon is very unpleasant for insects, while on the contrary it helps to spread a very pleasant fragrance in all rooms of the house. Another great insect repellent is white vinegar, a must-have ingredient if the goal is to fight a pest. Experts recommend it above all to keep mosquitoes and flies away from your home. After filling a glass with white vinegar, place it near windows and doors to block the potential entry of these insects. In a short time we will notice the excellent effectiveness of this solution.
Lavender and peppermint are other excellent insecticides.
Lavender is also a formidable insecticide, mostly used to repel spiders. However, lavender is also very effective against moths, cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes, and fleas. All you need to do is place beautiful bunches of lavender on your windowsills or sprinkle lavender essential oil on every room in your home. Here too the result is twofold: no more insects and a house that is always very fragrant.

Finally, mint can also be used to scare away any type of insect from the house. Thanks to its strong smell, this plant is an excellent insecticide capable of repelling all types of insects. Pests hate the smell of peppermint, so just place some on windowsills to make the insect invasion a bad memory.
