A natural fertilizer at no cost? Yes, with coffee grounds. A natural fertilizer at no cost? Yes, with coffee grounds. Are you looking for a cheap fertilizer for your garden plants?

If the answer is yes, here is a solution that may interest you. It is a simple and practically zero-cost solution: coffee grounds.
A natural fertilizer with mocha residue.
In fact, the residues of homemade mocha are an excellent natural fertilizer for your plants and, moreover, at zero cost, in the sense that yes, we will have spent money on buying coffee, but we will not have spent anything on an industrial fertilizer, which is no small thing. But why coffee grounds? Because they contain substances necessary for the exuberant growth of our plants, mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It is thanks to the presence of these substances that we can use coffee grounds as fertilizer, thus achieving a double result: on the one hand to recycle a waste product in a useful way and on the other to obtain a good free fertilizer. However, it should be warned that you should not overdo it with coffee grounds, because if you use too much mold can form that damages the plants, especially the roots. Among all plants, the ones that benefit the most from fertilization with coffee grounds are the so-called “acidophilic”, for example azaleas or hydrangeas. In the case of hydrangeas, in particular, coffee grounds can give spectacular blue or light blue hues. As for how to use coffee grounds to fertilize garden plants, simply mix them with (obviously cold) soil: this can happen both in the pot and directly in the soil. One last warning: before they can be mixed with the soil, the coffee grounds must have completely dried from moisture, because otherwise they can promote the development of mold.
