Today we are going to talk about recycling and how to take advantage of objects that we sometimes consider useless and throw away too superficially. Among the many that can be recycled are wooden stakes. How can these stakes be reused? Here is a truly terrific idea to be able to give life to these sticks. They will become pretty items of furniture in the home. Let’s find out together how to do it step by step.

How to reduce pollution through recycling
Reducing pollution is something important that we should all actively fight. And what is the best way to do it? Recycling. This method will allow us to give new life to all those objects and materials that would end up in a landfill, in this way we would also significantly reduce both waste and emissions that are harmful to our environment. Recycling also has an important impact on air pollution, an example is that of plastic burned or destroyed in landfills.

The consequences of this practice are: toxic and chemical substances that in turn are released into the air, while recycling everything would allow us to considerably reduce harmful emissions. So recycling plastic helps mitigate this serious problem that afflicts the entire planet. By properly separating and recycling, plastic can be reused to create new items, rather than ending up in the oceans or landfills. This will allow us not only to be able to reduce waste, but also to be able to conserve natural resources.
Each of us in our own small way can do our part by promoting change through small daily gestures. One of these is the use of fabric bags instead of plastic ones, or the use of reusable water bottles instead of plastic water bottles. While these small gestures may seem insignificant to many, they help to help reduce pollution, protect the environment, and conserve natural resources. We should encourage everyone to take part in this cause to safeguard our planet and make it a cleaner and more sustainable place. But it is not only plastic that pollutes our seas or our environment, although with less impact, wood also contributes to pollution. Even if the process of this material, requires a completely different process. Let’s see together which one and discover this formidable idea of recycling with wooden stakes.
Wood recycling
Wood recycling is an important process that also helps to reduce environmental pollution and exploit natural resources as much as possible. But how is wood recycled? Let’s go into the details and try to understand how to do it. First of all, there are various phases to consider, namely: the treated one (with chemicals or harmful products or the painted one), the metal-free one, then there is the untreated one and the clean one. Subsequently, each of these categories is destined for a different type of processing or recycling.

Untreated wood, clean wood, is excellent for being able to obtain shavings. These are used as biomass for the development of electricity or heat. While wood treated with varnishes has a totally different manufacturing process. The first is the removal of toxic substances, the second is the recovery of its properties.
Finally, there is wood with metal parts. This is sent to specialized centers for the removal of metals through high-intensity machinery. Once carried out, the wood can be subjected to processing and recycling processes. But what if we decide to do it ourselves? Sometimes it happened that we had wooden stakes and didn’t know how to recycle them. Let’s discover together a terrific idea to be able to recycle them.
Terrific recycling idea with wooden stakes
Wood, as we explained above, is subjected to several processing phases in order to be recycled. The idea that we want to recommend today, however, is completely simple to execute. The first thing you need to do is get about twenty wooden stakes (ice cream sticks), a plastic bottle, cardboard, scissors, hot glue, thread and beads.

The first thing to do is to cut the bottom of the bottle, the recommended height is that of the ice cream sticks. Once you have the underside of the bottle, cut out some cardboard to cover it completely. To glue it, use hot glue, fix it well on the bottle and make it adhere perfectly. Now all that remains is to apply the ice cream sticks all over the cardboard, do it by putting the glue only in two places, so that it does not come out. At this point, what you need is a base always obtained from cardboard, better if you use a different color. Try to cut it out twice the diameter of the container, so that it can be placed in the center, and line the outline with sticks.
Now, with the leftover cardboard, cut out a circle with a diameter of 10 cm, creating a spiral. Roll it up on itself creating a small flower and glue the end. This creation can be placed on top of the base of the container. Now you only have one last step to do, which is to decorate the container to your liking, using the wire in several points along the diameter. You can apply pretty beads to the ice cream sticks. Once everything is finished you will find a nice vase where you can put flowers inside. A truly original and creative idea: in this way you will have recycled both plastic and wood. And it is a great idea to involve your children, and make them understand how important recycling can be even if done with small gestures.
