Reviving rootless orchids is very easy. It only takes a few steps, here’s how to do it.

Orchids are very special plants and are characterized by their flowers. Until a few decades ago, it was an elite plant, as it had to be kept at high temperatures and humidity. Over the years, many varieties have spread that are easily adapted to Europe’s colder climate. Today, in fact, they are popular plants and are easily propagated around the house or garden. Its origins are Asian and there are about 20,000 different species of orchids. And 650 different genres. Each variety has its own specific characteristics and needs. However, the basic rule of thumb to prevent an orchid from dying is not to expose it directly to the sun’s rays. In fact, light exposure must be filtered out, otherwise the flowers and leaves may burn.

Then the orchid should not be watered too much. It is, in fact, a plant that should not be drunk every day, but about every 5/12 days (a little more often in the warmer season). However, if you see the orchids starting to weaken, you should intervene immediately.
How to Revive an Orchid with Dead Roots
Often, the weakening of orchids begins at the roots. Therefore, these must be strengthened in order for the orchid to come back to life. The first thing to do if the problem is in the roots is to take a pair of scissors and cut the damaged ones. After doing this process, you should take a pot with good drainage and some gravel. The latter is placed at the bottom of the pot to allow excess water to drain better into the saucer.

To bring the orchid back to life, but especially to the roots, a secret ingredient is added that is very easy to find. It’s sand that gets poured a little into the pot. What you should do with the help of your fingers are small holes where you insert the roots of the orchid. Now you just need to water the plant after placing it in the saucer, which will collect the excess water. At this time, it is good to place the plant in a sunny but airy place. You’ll notice that the roots have grown when the plant appears revived and blooms again. At that point, it was time to transplant the orchid. You should carefully remove the orchid from the pot and clean the roots thoroughly. Then put it in a new pot where stones have been placed for drainage. And here the orchid has now been reborn with a few simple steps.
Orchid Care Tips
Here are some tips on the best way to care for orchids. As we have said before, sun exposure is very important. There are temperatures at which the orchid must be: during the day they are between 20° and 22° and at night it should not fall below 16°. You’ll understand that your plant gets too much sun when the leaves start to turn yellow. Then it is better to place the plant on a windowsill facing north. However, the opposite can also happen, that is, there is a lack of light and in this case the melts tend to darken, in this case change place and place it in a sunnier place without direct sunlight.

When watering, on the other hand, the orchid does not need much water. It is recommended to water it at the beginning of the day by submerging the pot in a container with water for 5/10 minutes, preferably rainwater, as tap water contains limescale. Then it is important that the plant has the right soil and that there is a special one for orchids that is sold in nurseries or garden centers. Finally, fertilize the orchid about 2 times a month from March to October.
