There is a way to have a fresh poinsettia and propagate it using its leaves so it blooms for months. Here’s how to proceed.

A fresh poinsettia
During the Christmas period, there is  a plant  that spreads exponentially to the extent that it also becomes a floral gift for a relative or a person to whom we want to show our respect.

This is  a poinsettia  also known as poinsettia, but its real name is  Euphorbia pulcherrima  and it is characterized by large flowers and a red color, although it can be found in a white variation.

Poinsettia: Here’s how to multiply it infinitely

With its main colors of red and green, this plant is reminiscent of Christmas and is therefore used to represent the holiday season and cheer up our homes.

Its leaves, like its  flowers,  are milky and it is often not recommended to let animals near this plant because of the toxic effect it could have on the organism of our four-legged friends.

This ornamental plant is also used at other times of the year and its price can often be very high, although economical versions can be found in supermarkets.

However, not everyone knows that there is a method to multiply it endlessly using its leaves and keep it always fit and lush even in the hottest months of the year when temperatures reach peaks that are not ideal for its growth.

Procedure

To continue, we need to   gently separate the leaf  from our poinsettia and remove the stem with a cutter  so that only the leaf remains, from which we will remove the stem from the back.

For this operation, we will use  a cutter  and carefully, so as not to cut ourselves, we will proceed to file the back of the leaf  on  the side of the petiole, which will be completely removed.

Once it’s done, we take a clove of garlic or rub it on the part we removed, then the back of the leaf to absorb the garlic placed on it well.

Then we take  a beetroot  and cut it into slices, and after we have some slices, we put them on the soil, put leaves on top of it, and then cover everything with more soil.

We water everything regularly and after  30 days  we see what happened. The leaves  of the poinsettia  will have developed roots and we insert the leaf with the roots from below into the soil.

Once this is done, we water everything regularly and we will see that the first hint of poinsettia will slowly start to appear   as it grows with lush and colorful flowers.

This method is useful for multiplying our plant indefinitely, and we could do it many months in advance, so we will have self-  made  poinsettias to give away at the holidays.

Other types of plants can also be propagated using this method, although not all of them involve the use of beetroot.
